… my opinion is yes. Here’s my full Moo business cards review (as well as a video review, below), and a look at several ways Moo.com is a cut above most of the other business card printers I’ve come across.

Innovative Offerings

You can print plain ole’ business cards anywhere.

But if you want your business cards to feature up to 50 different designs or photographs in ONE pack, you need Moo.

Given my marketing background, I think this is one of the biggest innovations in business cards in recent years, and one that opens up a LOT of unique marketing opportunities. Consider…

• Salons can spotlight nail art designs or unique hair styles
• Boutiques can send prospects home with a picture of the product they’re considering
• Artists can feature dozens of examples of their work
• Photographers can display landscape photos on one card, wedding photos on another, etc.
• A bakery can feature numerous pictures & recipes that customers can “collect”
• A cake designer can promote both wedding cakes, kids cakes, and everything in between
• A personal trainer can present several home weight loss / muscle toning tips
• Interior designers can have a series of “before & afters” for various rooms

To me there’s nothing worse than a business card that fails to create an impression or advance the sale. Moo’s multiple design concept almost forces people to think of their business card as a marketing piece, rather than a contact card. And because of that they’re more likely to be saved… and shared.

Also, Moo’s quality (both paper and printing) ranks among the highest I’ve received.

Other options/add-ons include mini cards, rounded corners, a 100% recycled card stock, and a super-thick, 32-point card stock (see Moo Luxe review below), providing you with several options for standing out.

Moo’s Standard Business Cards

I got myself a 50-pack of their standard business cards and uploaded several family photos to see how their design tool worked. It was very easy to use and customize with my images and information.

Moo’s standard business cards arrived on 15.5 point stock.

They refer to the paper as a “matte laminate”… and if you’ve ever felt a silk business card that’s what they feel like most. It’s velvety and smooth and definitely high quality. It’s also thicker than a vast majority of business cards in my collection. The colors (full color both sides) came out vibrant, and the text crystal clear.

NOTE: This paper stock is ideal if you intend to feature full bleed photographs on your card.

Moo Luxe Business Cards

Moo’s newest offering is called Luxe.

I got a 50 pack of the “Freud” template for my sister – the perfect fit for a social worker.

They’re printed on super-thick 32-point paper which is roughly double the thickness of their standard cards – a difference you’ll feel right away (so will the people you hand them to!)

The cards are not silky like the standard cards. They have a textured matte feel like fine paper.

Luxe cards also feature a stripe of color that runs through the middle of the stock – kind of like painted edge business cards, though it’s only the middle third not the whole side of the card. So when you look at a stack of them from the side you’ll see alternating white, color (in my case blue), white. A nice touch I think.

The cards are not cheap, but the quality and the thickness definitely stand out.

NOTE: This paper stock is ideal for simpler designs (see photo above), as opposed to full bleed photos – which are better suited to Moo’s regular card stock.

Overall Experience

My overall ordering, design, & product experience was very good. Moo’s online design tool makes for relatively easy design, uploading and customization, and the order process is smooth and tinged with personality…

When you place your order you get a confirmation from “Little Moo”… and after it’s processed you get a confirmation that the order has moved on to “Big Moo” for printing. Of course, you get a shipping notification as well, and the cards are packed and presented (especially in the case of Luxe) to impress. Thumbs up!

When you hear “expensive business cards” what comes to mind?

I just came across these at PureMetalCards – purveyors of the most luxurious and expensive business cards I’ve ever seen. They also sell brass, copper, stainless steel, sterling silver, and super-cool carbon fiber business cards.

I’d get one… I’m just concerned it would weigh down my wallet.

I’ve seen unique photography business cards cards before, but this pretty much takes the cake.

The brainchild of Cardnetics, the “small iris” pushes the boundaries of business card design and makes for an irresistibly attention-grabbing marketing tool.

That is, of course, if you’re a photographer. Or say, a photojournalist.

At $6 a piece, they’re not inexpensive. Then again, when you really need to make a statement and impress a potential client, it couldn’t hurt to have a couple of these lying around.

Given the selective nature and cost, they may be more of a viral sensation than anything else, but that doesn’t detract from just how freakin’ cool these really are.

Easy Die Cut Business Cards

Fully customized die cut business cards take time and money to develop.
